Well, I know everyone has been checking this blog and wondering where the updates were. Sorry, fan club, but I have been really busy. After leaving Bowie on Saturday morning in a rush, because Sally was really sick, I drove to Granbury and poor Sally was running a high fever. The Dr. ran some tests, but we couldn't determine anything for sure. To be on the safe side, I left Sally there in the hospital overnight and headed on to the Ranch. Now, some of you are thinking.."Poor Mary Jo...had to be alone on her birthday"...but let me tell you this. Although I would have loved to be with Jim on my birthday, the next best thing was to be out here at the ranch...alone, or otherwise. I love it out here and would rather be here than any place on earth...except to be with my family.
Then on Sunday the Dr. called and said Sally was better and could come home. First I was going to have Danielle bring Sally with her when she came home, to Dublin, and I would go there to pick her up. But luckily, James and his friend Brian were coming out here on Sunday and they were going right through Granbury. So they stopped and picked her up for me on their way. It was a great reunion. I was so glad to see Sally - oh - and the boys, too.
Then, early Monday morning, Jim came home. It was the first time he had been off in 5 weeks. Ever since he started his new job he was working hard for them and finally everything got right so he got the week off. Shortly after he got here, Jennifer and her mom Caron came. The two girls were going on a Mother/Daughter trip to Frederiskburg and since Caron had never been here, Jenny wanted to bring her so she could see the place. That was a lot of fun. They just stayed a short while and then were on their way...
Tuesday, Jim had to run to Granbury to the dentist and to Ft. Worth to get a tire for his truck. While he was gone, the boys went to Brownwood for a quick look around. I stayed here and waited for the Telephone repair man to come...as we had no phone service. Wednesday, I went and got Tonia and we went to Stephenville where we met the Weatherford Car Salesman. He drove my car to Stephenville so I wouldn't have to go all the way to Weatherford. That was when Tonia found out we were going to give her the '03 Focus. So...everyone was happy and it was very exciting. I got back to the ranch and then James and his friend were heading back to Ft. Worth.
Now, Jim and I are here at the ranch...catching up on chores and honey do's that are behind since he has been gone so long. We killed several fire ant hills and Jim fixed the rod in my closet, I pulled the weeds out of the "loading alley" at the corral, and now we are going to hang some pictures and some deer heads. It will be great to get all our trophies and art work on the walls.
Well, thanks for checking in and hope you have a GREAT weekend.
